UC Davis Stores Award

Get help buying your textbooks!

We are Aggie Pride has a new way to help struggling students pay for their textbooks and course materials: the UC Davis Stores Award! This quarterly award was created through a groundbreaking online partnership between the UC Davis Bookstore and Amazon in 2013.  Together they have raised over $20,000 in funds to award to needy students through a credit program at the UC Davis Bookstore. Monies raised by Amazon and the UC Davis Stores will be credited through the bookstore and will cover all forms of class materials for students in need. The awards are given out quarterly and may be used at the Bookstore for textbooks, lab materials, and any other materials required on a student’s course syllabus.

The specific criteria to apply:

  • Student must have a current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or Dream Act application on file.
  • Student must demontrate a financial need for the UC Davis Stores Award
  • Students must have room in their budget determined by Financial Aid
  • UC Davis Stores Award may be awarded to students who:
    a) Have loans available
    b) Have also applied for a Student Helping Students Award

Awards from the fund are disbursed through an application and review process led by a committee of students advised by staff who are experienced with financial aid and philanthropic management.
